Do you like to read? I hope so, because I'm a freelance writer and would enjoy having you read some of my work. I'd also love to have you follow my blog at http://onwordsblog.blogspot.com/ and leave a comment.
Most of my writing is fiction for kids and non-fiction for adults.
To learn more about the middle grade, or "tweener" novel, The Peril of the Sinister Scientist, and picture book, Secret Service Saint, please click on Books.
I'm also a nostalgia columnist for the Antique Explorer, used to write feature articles for a newspaper in the San Francisco Bay Area, and my work has been in lots of other periodicals including Parents' Press, Bay Area Parent, Pockets, The Kids' Ark, WIN Informer, The Mailbox, Alameda Sun, Sunshine Magazine, InSpirit, JAF Newsletter, and Teachers of Vision, among others. Online publications include Spirit-Led Writer, RevWriter, and New Christian Voices. One of my plays was in the Christmas Program Builder by Lillenas Publishing Company, and my writing has also appeared in several anthologies. Once I even won a local poetry contest, although I seldom write in that genre.
Here are some writers' groups I belong to:
Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators www.scbwi.org
Sierra Writers www.sierrawriters.org
Several Critique groups including the Circuit Writers, ABC Writers, and, as a long-distance member, SCUM. (It's a secret what those initials stand for.)
The Writers' View
I'm also moderator of Pen-Souls, an online prayer and support group for Christian writers. ( If you're interested in joining please use the Contact Me form to request information.)
